Colorsplash DIY? [03 Jul 2008|11:27am] lomography [poindexter] I have three cheap flashes  - two manual, one thyristor. I also have a package of filter samples from Lee Filters that are the right size to cover the flash element. Attaching the filter to the flash is trivial, what I'm curious about is how to adjust exposure. The thyristor flashes will automatically adjust exposure, but the filter will absorb some of the light that it puts out. I could either cover the sensor with a bit of filter material or guess the exposure difference. LC-A/Colorsplash flash users, when you shoot with your colorsplash, do you leave your LOMO on A or set the aperture? Thanks! 2 comments|post comment

[01 Jul 2008|02:25pm] alifedeadtolove Katie just finished her last day of school until October 13th, 4th Of July, our daughter's due date, is 4 days away. I turn 25 years old tomorrow. In about an hour, i'll be finishing my half-sleeve, FINALLY, and Katie will be at a baby dr's appt, which I have to miss though it will be the first I have missed, and I feel shitty about it. The room is looking better. Basically we had our stuff in here, and we had some extra room, then we starting receiving things for Lilly...then we didn't have room for anything! I'm always thinking about have to maximize space, consolidate things, provide extra storage (that isn't the floor). We've done pretty good...and it's also given us an excuse to really think about all these clothes we both have...tooooo many. I have WAY too many band shirts...Katie has a few too. Over the last couple of years, i've been trying to NOT buy anymore, and to buy some more colorful/fashionable clothing, because, I don't want to be punk rock forever :-( and i need more clothes to wear to work. So, i've been putting band t-shirts in a bag, as has Katie, that I will soon turn over to my mom, and will return to me a full-size quilt, made from our old band t-shirts and hoodies! I can't wait! I will give it to Lilly for her to cherish forever. Ok, off I go to the Tattoo Shop! P.S. We bought an AC unit from Wal-Mart, best decision made at a Wal-Mart by far. post comment
